Let’s Strengthen Access

to Care in Texas

Texans rely on pharmacies for convenient access to immunizations and medications

Preserving Access

Your local pharmacy serves a critical need in the community. From being the place where families go to fill their prescriptions and immunizations to providing on-the-go-care, pharmacies are a cornerstone of care in Texas.

This year, Texas lawmakers have the opportunity to enhance pharmacy capabilities, and expand access to care statewide.

HB 1105 will allow pharmacies to administer vaccines and immunizations to children 3-years old and up, and SB 1137 expands previously enacted prescription drug reforms. Despite prescription drug middlemen long inserting themselves into the health care continuum, this legislation will preserve protections for patients.

Texans deserve access to the medication and immunizations they need, when they need them. To provide patients with real relief, action must be taken to protect access to care.
